Sigma Delta Kappa - Alpha Xi Chapter

Dear Baby Bar Candidates,                                                                                                           April 11, 2009

Members of Sigma Delta Kappa Law Fraternity at Pacific Coast University School of Law in Long Beach would like invite you to take a Mock Baby Bar Examination, at our university on Sunday, May 31 at 8:00am. Our Fraternity has been administering this exam for the past ten years now, and many students take this exam in order to get a feel for what it is really like to write (or type) 4 exams in 4 hours, take an hour break and then do 100 multistate problems in 3 hours under proctored exam conditions.

Three years ago I took the mock exam and I truly believe it was instrumental in my passing the exam on the first try. The benefits of taking our Mock Baby Bar are that you can experience:

·         Realistic questions: Past baby bar and bar exam questions on the three subjects tested.

·         Real time, proctored exam pressure: You will learn whether or not you can finish in the allotted time as well as experience the mental and physical stress of sitting and concentrating for seven hours.

·         Reliable feedback within a week: Graded with a number grade and detailed comments on substance and style by our university’s baby bar passers and honor students who know what the bar graders are looking for.

All of this for the reasonable cost of $80 ($70 for groups of three or more).

The purpose of the Fraternity is to broaden the field of legal knowledge; to preserve, improve and safeguard the standards of the legal profession; to foster friendship and comradeship among the members of this organization and to promote their moral, intellectual and professional well being and to further the welfare of the law schools on which chapters of the Fraternity shall be established.

It is well recognized that friendship and fraternal bonds are great assets in the legal world, whether between law school students or members of the bench and bar. You will find that the friendships made in SDK will carry on throughout your life.

We also have the privilege of providing sandwiches for our students who are taking the California First Year Law Students Examination affectionately known as the Baby or Mini Bar in June.
